ITINERARY
DAY 1
Descend into the Kelabit Highlands via Bario Airport as our local hosts greet you with fresh highland air and stunning views for a ground transfer to your homestay for the trip. First line of business – a hearty home-cooked lunch with our hosts before the adventures begin.
Packing list for the day: A charged camera and curious ear – our afternoon adventure takes us deep into the heart of Bario Valley. Step back in time at Bario Asal Longhouse, soak in the views at the Wind Chapel and end the day at Corea Hill Recreational Centre. As the sun sets, we gather back at the homestay for dinner — the perfect end to your first day in Bario.

DAY 2
Rise before dawn at 4:30am for a 1.5km trek up Prayer Mountain (about 310m elevation gain). As you hike through the cool morning air, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning sunrise over the Kelabit Highlands, making the early wake-up call well worth it.
We head back to our homestay for a well-deserved breakfast with the rest of the morning to yourself – relax on the veranda, chat with locals, or enjoy the calmness of the highlands. After lunch, we make our way to Pa Umor Village to visit the traditional Bario Salt Spring. Here, you’ll see how natural mountain salt is harvested using time-honoured methods passed down through generations. We’ll head back to the guesthouse by dusk, just in time to wind down after a day full of discovery.

DAY 3
Ease into the day with a delicious breakfast spread starting from 7:30 AM – a gentle start before the adventure picks up. At 9:30am, we set off on a short drive, then dive into a 45 minute – 1 hour trek through a lush rainforest. The trail winds through vibrant greenery and cool forest air, leading us to the spectacular Pa Ramapuh Waterfall—the only waterfall of the trip and a true hidden treasure. With its cascading tiers and natural pools, it’s the perfect spot for a refreshing dip or a quiet moment surrounded by nature. After soaking in the sights (and maybe your feet!), we return to the homestay for a well-earned lunch and a slow, peaceful afternoon to savour our last sunset in Bario. If the season and weather permits, you can visit the well-known Bario Pineapple farms and take part in harvesting! These fruits are also available for purchase upon harvesting.

DAY 4
We enjoy one last hearty breakfast as we bask in the morning light of the highlands (feel free to take a short walk to the local market and coffee shops) before bidding farewell and sharing one final scenic drive back to Bario Airport.
*Itinerary is subject to changes based on weather & road conditions.
